Responsible Procurement
BeiGene understands the importance of working with suppliers who share our commitment to developing high quality products and responsible operations, including through mitigating our impact on the environment. As our company continues to grow, our procurement team has evolved into a global function, allowing all regions to work together in a coordinated fashion to ensure the safety and quality of the products we buy.
Climate Resiliency
In 2022, we completed our first holistic greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory, including emissions from our own operations (Scopes 1 and 2 emissions) and our value chain (Scope 3 emissions). We have since set a carbon reduction goal across our Scope 1 and 2 emissions and are working to establish a Scope 3 carbon reduction goal by 2025. Read more about our how we are taking climate action within our value chain in our Responsible Business & Sustainability report.
Ethical Sourcing
We seek to work with suppliers who share our values and high business and ethical standards. BeiGene strongly encourages our partners adhere to responsible business practices outlined in our Supplier Code of Conduct, ensuring that the materials and ingredients we source are produced with fairness and respect for both people and the planet. We’ve initiated efforts to engage with key suppliers to raise awareness of material risk exposures, build capacity within our supplier base to track environmental data, and foster climate maturity in our value chain.
Supplier Diversity
BeiGene is committed to working with suppliers who represent the populations our medications support. Understanding that our work with small and diverse suppliers can contribute to stronger economic gains for underserved populations while also providing unique solutions, perspectives, and ideas to our business, we are committed to growing our relationships and pursuing innovations in patient health.
We assess the performance of our small and diverse supplier efforts annually. In tandem with our efforts to provide best-in-class care to our patients, BeiGene will continue to partner with suppliers of all backgrounds, helping them thrive so that we can make an impact, together.
BeiGene strongly encourages qualified small and diverse suppliers to become registered, either through government programs, third party organizations or self-certification.
